Allow editors to apply styles from css style sheet

Create a drop down list that shows styles from the style sheet which editors can apply to text, etc.

Also allow editors to change the color of their text.

Allow designers to nest cushycms class tags inside of other cushycms tag areas. For example an image inside of a <div>.

    I second this!

I don't think the editors changing the color of their text is necessary as they could destroy the page, but I do think that having the styles from the css style sheets would be an awesome addition to the editing interface.

Couldn't agree more. Allowing users to mark-up text with <p> <h1> etc based on pre-defined CSS rules would make the system invaluable.

Isn't this a lot like "Show content as seen on live site using stylesheets."? Maybe they should be combined...and the rank might go higher!

Yes! This is a must! :)

I love the idea of editors to pick from pre-defined style sheet. I do think there should be a way for it to read and render css files, like bigger CMS sites, for the advanced users. Then throw in warnings, validations, before it get's approved. Maybe introduce a editor checks and balance system like adobe contribute, where they need an administrator to approve changes to certain items first.

I don't think the user should be able to select any class from the stylesheet... styles are made up to control the look of specific content.. i.e. body text or Header Text. I don't want them to choose the header text just cause it 'looks bigger'... we all know why we're the designers and they're the users... I just need Cushy to RETAIN the CSS class that I set for it. Like a real CMS would do.

This would be nice I think to have too. If they added permissions I suppose.

I want to allow the editors and designers to be able to change text color. I have my client asking me how to do this and I have to tell them they can't because CushyCMS doesn't currently allow it. Please Cushy Staff, please let use edit color :)

    Thanks

As long as the designer can specify and limit which classes the editor may use, this is a good idea. In this way, the designer could specify a class of, for example, "red", which would allow editors to change the colour of certain things. The advantage of allowing colours via styles ONLY means that the editor cannot pick a ghastly clashing colour - only those within a carefully chosen palette.

Yes, yes, yes! Ability to call upon predefined CSS-rules is a make-and-break issue for a CMS. What´s the use of those otherwise. My only test with Cushy so far instantly fell apart, since Cushy does not support blockquote and switches new paragraph with a <br />. That doesn´t do for me.
