Follow file conventions
planned
CushyCMS should follow file structure conventions. Right now, when you upload a new picture, the picture is just stuck in the default directory even if there exists an "images" folder. This will make a mess out of the file structure rather quickly. Can this be fixed?
We're thinking a /cushycms/ folder for any files uploaded via cushy (not just images necessarily).

Agreed. Allow the web designer to designate a directory for images (default suggestion /images). Well-structured site FTW.

Yep I agree. Don't particularly like the idea of a /cushycms/ folder. Doesn't solve the problem, just pushes it to another place. I would prefer cushy to identify that the cushy-classed image file path is [http://www.website.com/img/] or [http://www.website.com/products/img] and then upload the image to that folder.

If you give us the option to determine the upload directory (with whatever you want as a default) then we designers could integrate it better with established Dreamweaver built sites. If you had some sort of simple date-based syncing (Movable Type does this with templates) then Dreamweaver-based designers and our Cushy-powered clients could both have access--very useful!

Where is the image upload option? From what I've seen you can just link to images all ready available on the web (using the "insert/edit image" button on the tool bar). Am I looking in the wrong place?

I think the idea of choosing a directory to upload to is best. We use cushy to collect content, as well as change it, and it doesn't do my precious file structure any good sifting through images in the root all the time!
By the way, rmcue, to upload an image right now, it needs to have a class of "cushycms" added to it, and it cannot be nested inside another cushycms element. Coming soon, though

Where is the Information Stucture?
We need a way to select the destination image folder for any page we choose.

Definitely. This is my number one feature request. In the page settings, let the designer designate a folder, named whatever the designer wants. Like what Martin and psyweb said.

This imo would be better then a cushycms-floder
Otherwise you will have the same 'problem' just fixed with the topic: 'don't brand the clienteditor.com domain as CushyCMS'.
non ?

Yes, don't use CushyCMS as the folder, if you have to default to something generic like clienteditor with the class. Call the folder uploads, because that is what the client is doing, uploading there files into a uploads folder. There for if you do any changes, you don't touch there uploads folder. makes sence in my mind.

I'm all for this! BUT don't use a CushyCMS folder... allow the web designer to decide where those files go.
Also, allow the editor to be able to designate a set 'thumb' and 'larger view' image for people to view live...

Agreed. however, don't particularly like the idea of a /cushycms/ folder either.

A sub-folder is a good idea, but do not brand it /cushycms or you negate the whole point of paying for it!
