Offer the option of hosting CushyCMS on client's server

We need a CMS solution that is hosted securely in-house via an intranet site (rather than ftp'ing from your servers).

Not going to happen sorry.

Reason 1: due to the tech we're using on the backend it wouldnt be trivial to bundle this up and install. E.g. root access required, modules to install, specific web server requirements, etc.

Reason 2: the simplicity of a centrally hosted service is part of what makes cushy compelling.

Reason 3: It does not suit our business model. Same reason you don't see distributions of services such as Basecamp, Gmail, Flickr, Delicious, etc. Not that we're that awsome yet.

    Definatly agree,

I agree... just the ability to pick out areas to edit with HTML classes is cool.

Hosting on your own server would be awesome.

This would also ease my security concerns.

well ... that would be nice indead .... nad would some some other issues ike security, privacy ('the sceret') ....

    Absoluteley! This I would use!

I'd love to be able to make any website into a simple CMS! (I prefer doing my designing outside of big bulky CMS's like Wordpress or Drupal)

Thought this would be cool though I doubt it will ever happen.

I'd drop $200 easy on that tonight if they made it available. There's just something about having to trust an online site which may not be around next year, would be a real pain switching over to another group.

    This would be ideal....

With you there, crazypixels! Happened to me a while back and had to design the whole site again with a new back-end. I don't wish cushy any bad luck, but the forecast ain't so good for start-ups. I think it needs to be a bit more powerful and "designer-friendly" before I'll sign up.

If the CushyCMS folks are reading this - I would happily double crazypixel's $200 offer - and might even be willing to go higher if need be. Is this at all something you folks would be willing to consider?

Definitely agree. I had an online service disappear on me (their server blew up!) for a few days, which makes me a bit twitchy. Anyone from Cushy care to comment on the likelihood of this option?

Yes I have had similar experiences in the past. Would be great if they could work outr a 'buy licence' price per site etc.

This is the big thing holding us back... currently if a client navigates to anything-at-all.clienteditor.com they go straight to the cushy site!!! Not much point in paying $28 p/m when this is still the case).

Disappointing - Hopefully paying users will be able to install an encrypted version with a licence check (like all the other white-label products out there) sometime in the near future!

I need it too! Please do that soon.

This is one of the things that would make Cushy go from great to fantastic!
