don't brand the clienteditor.com domain as CushyCMS

I love the idea of the pro version, and would use it for some of my smaller sites. But - the fact that the main www.clienteditor.com domain is branded CushyCMS makes it unlikely - I can't risk my clients seeing it and then just using the free version as opposed to paying me!

Allow repeatable (dynamic) chunks of content

Example application would be a newsletter with unlimited repeating sections of content.

It's inevitable that we include this.

Allow editors to apply styles from css style sheet

Create a drop down list that shows styles from the style sheet which editors can apply to text, etc. Also allow editors to change the color of their text. Allow designers to nest cushycms class tags inside of other cushycms tag areas. For example an image inside of a <div>.

    automatically detect pages within site
    planned

When creating a new site, a script should traverse through all the pages of the site and automatically add pages which have "class=cushycms".

Neat idea and definitely possible. We could probably pull page names out the meta titles too...

Offer the option of hosting CushyCMS on client's server

We need a CMS solution that is hosted securely in-house via an intranet site (rather than ftp'ing from your servers).

Add sub folders of pages...don't want 100 pages in a list

If I have a site where I'm editing 100 pages, I don't want them all in a list...I need a little diretory structure.

    Follow file conventions
    planned

CushyCMS should follow file structure conventions. Right now, when you upload a new picture, the picture is just stuck in the default directory even if there exists an "images" folder. This will make a mess out of the file structure rather quickly. Can this be fixed?

We're thinking a /cushycms/ folder for any files uploaded via cushy (not just images necessarily).

Upload images and make them available in the WYSIWYG editor

The WYSIWYG editor has an option to add images, but it requires a URL for the image. If you could define an images folder that Cushy could upload images to then make those images available in the WYSIWYG editor alongside the url option then it would be easy for user to include images within blocks of text.

    A "live" preview button

This would allow the editor to view the updated content in-place, as it will appear on the site, *before* actually making it live. Maybe open as a new popup window, or even better, as a nice ajaxy overlay on top of the edit page.

Allow per-item permissions within a page

I'd love to have more granular control over what each editor can do - ie, one editor may have acess to the homepage, but only be able to edit body copy rather than headings.

A current workaround for achieving this could be the use of server side includes. In your homepage:
    <!--#include file="fragment.html" -->

And then point cushy at fragment.html

Show content as seen on live site using styles sheets.

When the content shows in the cushycms editor, it does not match visual with the actual site. Clients will end up trying to "fix" this as they edit it. It would be best if the content was shown as it does on the live site.

Sometimes the user may want to remove an image after a period of time and later add another image. Have an option/checkbox so that users can say "no image", instead of only being able to replace images.

Allow total branding of pro accounts

Being able to upload your logo and pick a theme is not enough, need to be able to set the hex codes for each area so that it actually looks like it's part of a pro customers brand. Similar to basecamps system.

    Customise Editor Welcome Mail

I know there is a suggestion/planned upgrade to disable the automatic welcome emails that get sent out to clients. This would enable us to send our own welcome mails but what about just making the welcome editable in terms of content and ability to add some simple branding.......or go the whole hog and allow us to paste the source html for a fully branded mail...

    Support Editing XML Documents

I noticed a bug when trying to allow the editing of XML documents with custom fields. Added class="cushycms-text" to the tags I wanted to be made editable in my XML document, for example; <name class="cushycms-text"></name> but upon publishing the document, all of the tags were converted to HTML <div> tags instead, thus breaking my XML document. I request a means to allow the editing of XML tags withing a .xml document that does not break these custom tags or transform them into HTML <div> tags.

    Support dynamic navigation

Rather than having to edit your hard-coded navigation on every page or build your own navigation engine it would be great if you could supply a navigation engine that mirrored the site structure (given that you add folders) and with wich you could add a navigation chunk on every page. In this way the navigation would render differently depending on where a page was placed in the structure.

Let us use a custom class name in place of "cushycms"

We should be able to define one or more editable class names and then state how they will be treated by Cushy. For instance, lets say our main text areas are already having a class name of "maintext" we should be able to set up "maintext" as a html/plain whatever editable area so we don't need to append CushyCMS to the class name and make the code messy.

Make un-editable areas in editable areas

Let's say there are several blocks on a page you want editable, but in the middle of these areas there is one paragraph you do not want editable. It would be nice if there was a way to make that one paragraph un-editable in the block of content instead of splitting the block into two blocks and doubling (or whatever multiplier you want to use) the number of editable areas of the page.

Expand & Collapse "Sites & Pages" List

With multiple sites and many pages per site... the list of "Sites & Pages" can get quite long. My suggestion is to have a standard disclosure triangle icon next to each site name, so that you can show only the pages for the site you wish to edit at the time! :)

give designers monthly cash kickback for invoicing editors

i would like to add my clients as editors and have them invoiced each month (on their credit card). then i'd like to receive money each month for each client. ie: editor pays $10 per month designer gets paid $5 per month of this the kickbacks could accrue in the designers account until they decide to "cash out" via pay pal. designers are hurting for residual income ;)

let me setup templates so that editors can create new pages

I would like for me to be able to build at least one template, but possibly more, for each site. This way my editors can choose the type of layout they need for a new page and can easily add new pages to the site. These templates would be ones I create and just name template.html or something and already have all the areas setup to be editable, they would just insert the content into the areas available to them.

    Make CushyCMS Tags Nestable

It would be cool if the cushycms tags could be nested inside of each other. Making it so that you could put a cushycms tag around an entire block of text and then have another cushycms tag around an image in that same block of text.

Make the WYSIWYG editor textarea expandable

The boxes are always the same size. And to get through it the user has to scroll up and down. Instead you should allow the textarea to be resizable using the lined symbol in the bottom left corner, like on many operating systems. This comment box that I am typing into allows me to adjust the size of the textarea, your main site should have this basic feature aswell.

Option to overwrite images on upload

Sort of runs along side the images are uploaded in the wrong place thing but I think it would be really useful if there was an option to completely overwrite the target image when a new one is uploaded, this means that any page using the same image will automatically be updated also, without editing the html of the other page.

scrape classes and ids and present them in the WYSWYG

Cushy is blowing away my styling because my users can't associate classes with new elements. I've tried to get around this by styling <strong> tags and putting all content in <ul> tags. But a dropdown with styles on an element that can be associated with new content would be great!

add the option to remove formatting options on text editor

Although it's great to be able to offer a client the option to edit the text in a familiar Word format: make it bold, use different fonts, font sizes etc - it would be really great if you remove this option and lock the text fields to simple text, so that you can ensure your layout and style stays intact.

In step "Assign page to ..." there is a list of files (Select a page to make editable:). It would be very helpful if pages that are already editable would be marked by an icon so you don't assign pages twice.

Allow me to integrate your CMS into mine

It would be nice if there was a clever way to integrate this into my custom CMS. My client needs an interface to edit his content, as well as some specific interfaces (FAQ editing, for example) that can't be accomodated by Cushy. I'd like to see a way to easily integrate this CMS into mine, so I can add functionality for my user without having to redirect him to an entirely new page. I think the easiest way would be to have a public URL with some long token in the url so I can edit a page without needing a user/login.

Hello and thank you for your time. I know that your terms of use statement says: "While we will take every reasonable precaution to secure these details (including the use of database data encryption)..." However, I havent found anywhere on the website that talks about your companies responsibility to the users, about making sure that no-one within the company will mis-apropriate our private info, passwords, etc.. Can we trust your company? If yes, then tell us why! Make us feel comfortable with trusting CushyCMS! Thank you.
